Kuehl and Payer Ltd. provides transportation and structural engineering services for cities and counties in northwest and north central Iowa from our Storm Lake and Algona offices. Our staff includes two registered professional engineers, two engineering interns, four IDOT certified technicians and support technicians and draftspersons well versed in state and federal plan development requirements.

Past projects have included plan development and construction services for city streets, county roads, airport improvements, city subdivisions, industrial site plans and recreational trails. We have worked through projects for our clients that have utilized funding from a variety of sources including SAFETEA-LU (formerly TEA-21, ISTEA and FAUS), RISE, REAP, Federal and State Trails Programs, TIF financing, SRF Loans, WIRB grants, and special assessment procedures.

Our structural engineering projects have included design of new bridges and multi barrel culverts and ongoing bridge maintenance inspection services for cities and counties. Our staff has completed IDOT/FHWA bridge design and bridge inspection courses and our firm is prequalified by the IDOT for provision of services in several of these categories.
